Talks & Workshops
Tailored CPD talks and workshops for industry, education, and arts settings.
Research Meets Real Life
Neurodivergence can be complicated. Understanding it doesn’t have to be.
We offer engaging, accessible talks and workshops that help people make sense of neurodiversity — moving beyond lists of traits and stereotypes to explore what it can actually mean to experience, think and work differently.
Sessions combine research insights, psychoeducation, and lived experience, with plenty of room for curiosity, reflection, and conversation. They can be adapted for different organisations, audiences and contexts, from an introductory exploration of neurodiversity of neurodiversity to a deeper dive into a particular topic.
Talks and workshops can be delivered online or in person, and tailored to suit your organisation and the people you work with.
Talk Topics
-
An accessible introduction to neurodiversity, exploring what it means for brains to work differently and moving beyond labels and stereotypes towards a richer understanding of neurodivergent experience.
-
Why can trying harder sometimes make things harder? Explore the science and lived experience of ADHD, effort and motivation — and what happens when we rethink what “trying” looks like.
-
Explore how ADHD can shape the teenage years, and how the adults around young people can support confidence, wellbeing and success without losing sight of the person behind the behaviour.
Note: This workshop is particularly well suited to secondary school CPD settings/ Croke Park hours.
-
Creative work and neurodivergent brains can be a brilliant combination - but not always an easy one. Explore how we can build creative practices and careers that work with our brains and ambitions, without sacrificing our wellbeing along the way.
Consultancy
Because a fresh pair of eyes can change the view.
Redraw the Box
Sometimes you don’t need another person on the project. You just need someone outside it to help you see what you might be missing.
Neuropirates can bring a fresh, neurodivergent perspective to projects, programmes and ideas — asking questions, spotting assumptions and helping you think through how your work might land with the people that you’re trying to reach.
That might mean a one-off conversation at an early stage, a review of plans or materials already in development, or check-ins at key points through the project. We can act as a critical friend: bringing together lived experience, research and creative practice to help you test your thinking and make more considered decisions.
Bespoke Projects
Let’s make something that matters, together.
Divergent Imaginings
Sometimes the best way to explore an idea isn’t through another report, presentation or training session. Sometimes you need to make something.
Neuropirates works with organisations, researchers and communities to develop creative projects that explore neurodivergent experience, share knowledge, and invite people into new ways of thinking.
That might mean creating a resource, or creative intervention; finding an engaging way to share research beyond academia; or designing a participatory project that brings people together to explore a question through making, conversation and creative enquiry.
Projects are shaped collaboratively around the people, ideas and context involved. You might come to us with a fully formed brief, the beginnings of an idea, or simply a question that you think could be interesting to explore together.
If you’ve got an idea - or the beginnings of one, get in touch via the contact form and lets dive down a rabbit hole together.
